042614-ECWR-Zoo-tigerThe next time you’re in the Destin area and want something new and different to do, check out the recently revamped Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge Zoological Park. The ten-acre Crestview park is home to 100 animals of 35 different species including tigers, lemurs, spider monkeys and endangered species from six continents.

ECWR Zoological Park was established in 2013 by the Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the education, conservation and rehabilitation for the welfare of Florida’s wildlife. The ECWR purchased the park, formerly known as Sasquatch Zoo, and has greatly enhanced the park over the past year.

Emerald Coast Magazine featured an article about the park in their April/May 2014 issue. Read the article here.

You can visit the ECWR Zoological Park Tuesday through Sunday from 10 am to 4pm. Adult tickets are $8 and $5 for children 2-10.
