Vision Airline’s focus is Destin, long a popular beach spot near Fort Walton Beach for summer vacationers from Southeast states. Nearly all of the area’s 8 million annual visitors drive. That’s because major airlines make small-city travelers fly through big hubs on tiny jets at ridiculously high prices, says David Meers, Vision’s chief operating officer.

“These markets are ignored by the large carriers,” he said. “There’s so little flying that people have had to endure a long drive.”

Vision Airlines announces they are expanding their service to 17 new destinations from the Northwest Florida Regional Airport.  Vision will fly full-sized Boeing 737 jets to connect 17 cities.

Starting March 25th, they will offer flights to and from 12 new destinations which include:

Atlanta, GA
Little Rock, AR
Huntsville, AL
Savannah, GA
Punta Gorda, FL
Baton Rouge, LA
Knoxville, TN
Macon, GA
Greenville/Spartanburg, SC
Birmingham, AL
St. Petersburg, FL
Louisville, KY

On April 1st, service will be begin at these additional destinations:

Chattanooga, TN
Shreveport, LA
Asheville, NC
Columbia, SC
Orlando, FL
